If you’ve shopped with us in-store at Pearce or online before, chances are you’ve heard us talk about circular credit. It’s one of the ways we thank you for shopping circular and help keep good-quality kidswear in use for longer.
But we know credit can sometimes feel confusing - especially when the rules differ slightly between in-store and online.
So here’s a clear, honest breakdown of how TLCco circular credit works, what’s changed recently, and what hasn’t.
What is circular credit?
Circular credit is TLCco store credit earned through eligible actions such as selling items with us or participating in approved credit programs. It’s designed to keep clothing in circulation and make shopping more accessible for families.
It’s not cash and it’s not a gift voucher - it’s a circular system that helps us:
-
Keep prices fair
-
Support our social-enterprise model
-
Reduce textile waste
-
Continue funding community and maternal-health initiatives
How circular credit works in-store at Pearce
When shopping in-store at the Pearce Community Centre:
-
Circular credit can be used on eligible circular fashion items only
-
Credit use is capped in line with our standard in-store rules
-
Some products are excluded (see below)
-
Credit cannot be used on postpartum products
Our team will always help you apply credit at the counter and explain how it’s been calculated for your purchase.
If you’re ever unsure, please ask - we’d much rather talk it through than have anyone feel confused or disappointed.
How circular credit works online (what’s changed)
After a huge response to our 50:50 Christmas Credit Party, we worked with the developer of our rewards app (Rewardify) to make things simpler and more consistent online.
💚 You can now use circular credit online to cover up to 50% of the value of eligible circular fashion items in your cart - anytime.
What this means in practice:
-
The 50% applies to your cart total, not your credit balance
-
You can use as much credit as you like, up to half of the eligible items in that order
-
The rule applies automatically at checkout - no special events needed
Example:
If you have $100 worth of eligible circular fashion in your cart, you can apply up to $50 in circular credit (as long as you have that amount available).
What credit can be used on
Circular credit can be applied to:
-
Gently worn kidswear
-
Rescue / new-with-tags circular fashion items
-
Eligible accessories classed as circular fashion
If it’s part of our circular fashion range, it’s generally included unless clearly marked otherwise.
What credit can’t be used on
Circular credit cannot be used on:
-
Postpartum products (including feeding and recovery items)
-
Selected non-circular or vendor products
-
Any items excluded under our standard in-store terms
These exclusions are the same in-store and online and help ensure we can continue stocking essential postpartum products sustainably.
Why are there limits at all?
We know it can feel frustrating to have limits - but they’re essential to keeping TLCco operating as a viable social enterprise.
Credit caps help us:
-
Pay our staff, insurances, vendors and suppliers
-
Cover rent and operating costs at the Pearce Community Centre
-
Continue offering affordable pricing to all families
-
Reinvest into community programs and donations
Without these safeguards, the circular system simply wouldn’t work long-term.
The fine print
-
Circular credit applies to items, not your credit balance
-
Online, you can now use credit on up to 50% of eligible circular fashion items per order
-
In-store rules remain the same and our team is always happy to explain them
-
Postpartum products are excluded everywhere
If you ever have questions about your credit, please reach out or ask us in-store. We’re always here to help and we’re so grateful you’re part of our circular village.
Thank you for shopping with purpose and for keeping beautiful pieces in play 🌱
With love,
Micaela, Jane & the TLCco team
