A Store That Feels Like a Hug

Not Just a Shop, A Social Enterprise

At TLCco, we’re creating something bigger than fashion. We’re a mum-run social enterprise making waves in children’s clothing, maternal health, and community connection.

Why We Exist

Amazing things happen when women support each other...

TLCco began with one big friendship and two very personal motherhood journeys.

We’ve walked through IVF, neonatal loss, prematurity, and the overwhelming beauty and grief of early parenthood.

In those moments, we craved connection—so we built it. What started as a market stall became something much bigger: a store with soul, a mission with meaning, and a place where families feel seen.

Along the way, our village grew. Mamma Mingle found a home from the same need for connection, and now welcomes over 1800 local women into a community that supports, uplifts, and reminds mums they’re never alone.

Together, we’re creating a circular economy for children’s fashion that funds maternal health, reduces textile waste, and builds something rare: a business built on care.

This is TLCco.

The Friendship That Built a Movement.

At TLCco, every piece of clothing tells a story—and so do we. This is ours.

We met in 2015 working in media in Sydney - an unlikely friendship between the PR Manager and the Group Editor - if you know, you know - bonding over fashion, deadlines, celeb gossip, and long lunches that were always too short.

The connection was instant.

What started as friendship became something deeper when life shifted in unexpected ways. Jane was navigating maternity leave after the devastating loss of her daughter, Ava. Micaela, already a mum to her IVF miracle Quin, was embracing the bittersweet clarity that sometimes, motherhood looks different than expected.

In the quiet, complicated moments, the idea for The Little Capsule Co. was born—a place that could hold all of it: grief and joy, stories and stuff, purpose and play.

We wanted to create a store that made it easier for families to find beautiful, thoughtful clothing, but also a community where no one feels alone. A space that connected people through shared experience, circular fashion, and doing a little good every day.,

That spark became The Little Capsule Co. - a place built on friendship, fuelled by impact, and rooted in the radical belief that families helping families can change the world.

Micaela

Co-Founder • Mum to Quin • Store leader, donation queen, and walking warm hug

Micaela doesn’t just help run TLCco—she is TLCco for so many families in Canberra. She’s the one greeting you, helping you hunt down that perfect knit, making a toddler laugh mid-meltdown, or telling you exactly which brands run big (or small). She brings warmth, intuition, and her whole heart to the store—and every customer feels it.

With a background in children’s publishing and a lifelong love for meaningful fashion, Micaela understands how clothing can carry emotion, memory, and pride. Her journey to motherhood was long and layered, but the arrival of her IVF miracle, Quin, redefined everything—and inspired her to create something that honoured that path and supported others on theirs.

At TLCco, Micaela leads the in-store experience, our donation programs, and the buyback scheme. She curates our racks with intention and runs the show day-to-day with just the right mix of empathy, playfulness, and serious hustle.

Beyond the store, Micaela is a force in the community. She’s an active board member across several charities and grassroots initiatives, lending her time and heart to projects that empower women and children—particularly in the Philippines, where her family’s roots run deep. Her philanthropic work includes donating clothing, period products, and medical supplies to families living in poverty, often working quietly in the background to make sure every item ends up exactly where it’s most needed.

Micaela also founded Mamma Mingle to help mothers feel less alone in the early years—a space now run by Sam, allowing her to focus on expanding TLCco’s impact through its growing social enterprise model.

When she’s not running the store, you’ll find her answering a FaceTime call from Jane in the most inappropriate places (the dentist chair? family lunch? inside a change room? all yes) or sipping a bubble tea and catching up on messages with 17 tabs open in her brain.

She’s the reason TLCco feels like home, and the heart behind so many quiet moments of care that never make it to Instagram—but matter more than anyone knows.

Jane

Co-Founder • Mum to Ava & Hugh • Strategy meets the kindest soul

When Jane’s daughter Ava was born prematurely and passed away the next day, she found herself searching Canberra for something tiny and beautiful enough for one final cuddle. Nothing was available—not in-store, not fast enough online. That moment became the catalyst for everything.

One that stocks clothing as small as 650g. One that understands grief, prematurity, and the often unspoken complexity of pregnancy and early parenthood. One that never asks intrusive questions or makes assumptions about who you’re shopping for or why.

Jane leads TLCco’s creative direction, customer experience, business strategy, and national rescue program, sourcing unsold stock from beloved boutique brands. She also runs our online store, our marketing, PR, and customer service, ensuring that every word, rack, and reply reflects care, clarity, and compassion.

She believes deeply in the power of clothing to tell stories—and in the right of every family to feel seen. That’s why TLCco also supports families with additional medical needs, stocking NG and oxygen tape with playful, beautiful designs that help children feel like themselves.

Jane is also the reason TLCco’s copy hits you right in the feels and the reason Micaela is constantly being asked to “just do one little Instagram Live.” She often jokes that Micaela keeps her locked in the cupboard and only lets her out on special occasions—but the truth is, they talk on the phone multiple times a day. If you scroll through Instagram closely enough, you’ll probably spot Jane in the comments heckling with love.

She’s also mum to Hugh the original store baby, who keeps her grounded, giggling, and covered in crumbs at all times.

What We Believe

  • No story is too complex to be welcomed.
  • No child is too small to be celebrated.
  • No outfit is too loved to be loved again.
  • No mum should have to do it all alone.

We started with one big friendship and two very personal motherhood journeys. Today, TLCco is a growing, community-powered store - and we’re just getting started.

This is TLCco.

Where every purchase plays its part.
Where every family has a place.
Where every child is remembered.

With love,
Jane & Micaela xx
